- Landscape Installation
- All aspects of new installation projects.
- Work with Registered Landscape Architect.
- Assist in landscape bed layout and site analysis.
- Use proper bed preparation techniques.
- Assist in nursery plant material selection and layout of plants according to design.
- Be involved in planting, staking, fertilizing, mulching and watering.
- Weekly Site Maintenance
- Work with experienced on-site maintenance crew.
- Visit commercial and residential maintenance sites on a weekly basis.
- Learn fundamental maintenance practices for mowing, edging, and weed control.
- Learn how to use different pieces of equipment and various pesticides and herbicides.
- Learn importance of proper design and installation to simplify the maintenance process
- Pruning (Summer Work)
- Work with Horticulturist.
- Learn proper pruning techniques for different plant species.
- Work with both deciduous and evergreen materials (Plant Identification).
- Maintain perennials, use proper deadheading and plant clean-up techniques.
- Seasonal Color (Month of May)
- Learn to layout and install annual flower beds.
- Learn the importance of soil amending, fertilizing and watering.
