Molly grew up in Granville, Ohio in a family of four girls. Her dad helped flourish her love for plants. (He even still visits to work for M.J. during a couple days of our annual planting season—just to help out!) Molly and her twin sister, Polly, both attended The Ohio State University. Molly majored in Landscape Architecture, and Polly in Landscape Horticulture & Floriculture. While at OSU, she met her “wonderful” husband, Joel, and they married on February 29, 1992.
Molly began her career at Keller Farms in 1989 on a field crew and then design and sales. She worked there until starting M.J. Design in 1998. Since then, Molly and Joel have had two children, Ali (Freshman at University of Cincinnati), and Drew (Sophomore at Dublin Coffman). Molly and Joel built a beautiful office with 2 acres of gardens in Plain City and have also received over 50 awards for landscaping at the local, state and national levels.
Molly has served on various boards over the years, including the Columbus Landscapes Associations, Ohio State Delta Delta Delta Alumnae chapter, and House Corporation to Coffman High School Sports boosters. Recently, Molly has taken on the role of CEO at M.J. Design, but that is not to say she won’t still get her hands dirty during planting season. She loves playing with flowers and putting the “Molly touch” on them.
