If you've admired one of our colorful seasonal containers or flower beds lately, there's a good chance Amy helped bring them to life.

In just a year and a half with M.J. Design Associates, Amy has become a familiar face to many of our clients. Her friendly personality, genuine excitement for plants, and willingness to listen has earned her several glowing Google reviews, with clients praising everything from her beautiful arrangements to her helpful advice.

Every Pot Starts with a Conversation

Ask Amy what her favorite part of the job is, and she won't start by talking about flowers. She'll tell you it's talking with clients. (Especially if they have a dog!)

She loves hearing their ideas, learning their style, befriending their pets, and helping transform those conversations into colorful seasonal containers and flower beds they can enjoy all season long. “Seeing a client's excitement when everything comes together” is what keeps her coming back every day.

More Than Just a Green Thumb

Amy has always loved learning, and she has the degrees to prove it! She holds two master's degrees, one in Developmental Kinesiology and another in Education. Before her jump to the plant side, she spent time teaching and coaching college basketball.

These days, her classroom has been traded for garden beds and container gardens, but her love of helping people and sharing knowledge is still part of everything she does.

Plants Aren't Just Her Job

They're her hobby, too. When she's not at work, you'll probably find Amy tending to her personal plant nursery, where she specializes in winter-hardy succulents. Safe to say, plants don't stay at the office when the workday ends.

Getting to Know Amy

  • Perfect Day: Building an enormous sandcastle on the beach, then watching the sunset as the waves slowly reclaim her masterpiece.

  • Favorite Flower: Double-bloom begonias—especially rich reds and soft blush pinks.

  • What Makes Her Smile: Watching animals simply be themselves. (Featuring a photo of Amy’s dog Kody digging in her freshly planted flowers)

If you've spent more than a few minutes with Amy, you've probably discovered she's always ready with a smile, a laugh, or an enthusiastic conversation about plants. Her positive energy, creativity, and genuine care for our clients make her a wonderful part of the M.J. team, and we're excited to see her continue to grow with us.
